Morris Kletzel, MD, is the division head of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplant in the Department of Pediatrics at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University and a member of the Executive Committee of the Lurie Cancer Center. Dr. Kletzel joined the Northwestern faculty in 1991 as the director and founder of the Stem Cell Transplant Program at Children's Memorial Hospital. In 2002, he was named the Meryl Suzanne Weiss Professor and Division Head of Pediatric Hematology Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation. Dr. Kletzel is a graduate of the National Autonomus University of Mexico. Before coming to Northwestern, he was on the faculty at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science Medical School. His main research interests include the treatment of neuroblastoma, stem cell transplantation and the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells. He also is active in the development of clinical trial in the Children's Oncology Group (COG) and the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Consortium (PBMTC). |
