Executive Committee > Associate Director, Clinical Affairs: Julian C. Schink, MD

Dr. Schink's special interests include surgery for ovarian cancer, survivorship issues for cancer patients, patient advocacy, advanced pelvic surgery and clinical trials. He has been a principal investigator on several clinical trials investigating ovarian cancer chemotherapy and is active in direct patient care, research and administration. He is also involved in local and national education and research programs.

Dr. Schink is a member of the Gynecologic Oncology Group, a non-profit organization with the purpose of promoting excellence in the quality and integrity of clinical and basic scientific research in the field of Gynecologic malignancies, and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He has been the recipient of numerous academic awards and four times has been named one of the Best Doctors in America by Woodward/White. Also, both Good Housekeeping Magazine and Ladies Home Journal have named Dr. Schink one of the nation's Best Doctors for Women.

He earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at Northwestern University and his gynecologic-oncology fellowship at UCLA. He was a faculty member at UCLA and at the University of Wisconsin where he served as Vice Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 1995 until 2004.
