Objectives and Outcomes
Objectives of the Onco-Biotechnology Summit:
- Understand what novel therapies and diagnostics are in practice and in the pipeline for the following diseases: Breast cancer, Myeloma, Lymphoma, Colorectal, Acute Leukemia, CM, CLL, Prostate cancer, Lung and Ovarian cancer.
- Determine what actions attendees, panelists, their respective organizations and industry sectors can take to better support the development, trial and adoption process for novel diagnostics and therapeutics
- Identify business opportunities to work more effectively with payers, investors, and other critical participants of onco-biotechnology enabling sectors.
- Understand of the new technologies driving novel diagnostics and therapeutics (E.g.; nanotechnology, stem cell)
- Identify ways novel diagnostics and therapeutics impact the clinical oncology practice, guidelines and standards of care
- Understand the possibility of adverse drug reactions and how to address them in a timely and sensitive manner.
Outcomes expected from the Onco-Biotechnology Summit:
- Increased clinician preparedness and proactiveness in adoption of emerging onco-biotechnology technologies
- Development of more appropriate reimbursement of onco-biotechnology and related clinical services through discussions of reimbursement challenges and solutions
