True to its "Rock Star" theme, the 19th Annual Cancer Survivors' Celebration & Walk was filled with music, sunshine, and more than 3,800 cancer survivors*, families, friends, health care providers and scientists who are the Lurie Cancer Center's rock stars. Over 725 cancer survivors took part in the celebration on National Cancer Survivors Day, wearing purple t-shirts with pride.
The morning's first speaker, Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Survivor Marc Chibnik, inspired 200 Walk participants to register as potential marrow donors on-site in Chicago's Grant Park with "Be the Match." Watch video.
