We recommend the Grant Park South Garage (entrances on South Michigan Ave at Jackson Blvd. and Van Buren St.; no discount available) and Northwestern Memorial Hospital Huron/St. Clair Garage, 222 E. Huron St. (discount available). Free trolleys run between each garage and the walk site from 6:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
The celebration is over at about 11 a.m., following the cancer survivors' group photo.
Yes! This is a community event for everyone who has been touched by cancer.
The event is rain or shine...let's hope for shine!
Free trolley service to the walk site begins at 6 a.m. from the Northwestern Memorial Huron/St Clair Parking Garage (trolley stop on the north side of Huron, between St. Clair and Fairbanks) and the Grant Park South Parking Garage on Michigan Ave. and Jackson Blvd. Trolleys return walkers to the garages until about 11:30 a.m.
Options for t-shirt sizes are youth Large (similar to an adult Small), adult XL and adult XXL. Cancer survivors wear purple, everyone else wears white. The t-shirts have a new design each year, created for the Cancer Survivors' Celebration & Walk.
The purple t-shirts make it easy to recognize and honor the cancer survivors.
Your support helps us attract exceptional new physicians and scientists, and provides funding for important research projects that move us closer to finding a cure. For more information about donating to the Lurie Cancer Center, click here
