Charles Bennett, MD, PhD, MP

Charles Bennett, MD, PhD, MP earned his bachelor's degree from Swarthmore College, his MD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and his MPP and his PhD in public policy from the RAND Graduate School (with honors in social science methodologies). He trained in internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital and hematology/oncology at the University of Chicago and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at RAND. He was Assistant Professor at Duke University, Associate Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University, and was promoted to Professor of Medicine in 2000. In September 2006, he was selected as a recipient of the Buehler Chair of Medicine in Health, an endowed professorship between the Buehler Center for Geriatrics at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and the Kellogg School of Management.

Dr. Bennett is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Illinois-Chicago Colleges of Public Health and Pharmacy and a member of the executive committee for the Agency for Health Research and Quality's DeCIDE Center at the University of Illinois-Chicago College of Pharmacy. Dr. Bennett is also an active senior member of the Veterans Administration Healthcare System. He is Associate Director for the VA Midwest Center for Health Services and Policy Research and a member of the executive committee for the Northwestern University K12 program. Dr. Bennett interacts with a number of members of the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center, with a focus on individuals with expertise in hematologic malignancies and genitourinary malignancies.
