I am working on 3 clinical projects currently. The first involves a major collaboration with Dr. Rick Kittles PhD at the University of Illinois of Chicago and looks at vitamin D deficiency, related genetic polymorphisms and risk of prostate cancer across 3 academic institutions. The second study involves community based participatory research and is in collaboration with Project Brotherhood Inc and the Medical Social Sciences group at Northwestern University. This study uses focus groups to design a social media campaign to test a culturally sensitive intervention to improve prostate cancer screening rates among African American men in Chicago. The third project is also collaborative with two Infectious Diseases physicians at Northwestern Memorial Hospital evaluating the role of HIV status on prostate cancer risk and received treatments for clinically localized prostate cancer.
