H Foundation Basic Science Symposium

"The H Foundation is a model for community commitment to the cause of cancer prevention and elimination." – Dr. Steven Rosen, Director, Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University

In ten years, the H Foundation has raised over $3.5 Million donating nearly every dollar raised to the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University. These funds are used as seed money for basic science cancer research projects, which then compete for additional government or private funding. This allows scientists to pursue novel ideas to detect cancer earlier and with greater precision.

To recognize and thank the H Foundation board for its extraordinary commitment to the Lurie Cancer Center, Dr. Rosen and Tom O'Halloran, PhD, associate director for basic sciences research, announced that the center's annual basic science symposium will now be named the "H Foundation Basic Science Symposium." The symposium takes place every Spring, rotating between the Chicago and Evanston campuses.
