Our Mission

The mission of the Cancer Survivorship Institute at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University is to:

  • Bring together clinicians and scientists to support evidence-based state-of-the-art supportive oncology and survivorship care.
  • Promote and implement innovative, transformative and translational research programs to improve the health of cancer survivors and their families.
  • Lead implementation and study of distress screening and survivorship care planning standards of care.
  • Support educational activities for survivors, their families and the community.

The Cancer Survivorship Institute brings Lurie Cancer Center and Northwestern Medicine clinicians and scientists together to stimulate and support outstanding cancer survivorship care and research programs. Our patient-centered approach provides comprehensive supportive oncology services including psychosocial, rehabilitative, integrative and palliative care. Our specialized survivorship clinics address the unique medical and lifestyle needs of our survivors. Through the Lurie Cancer Center and Northwestern Medicine, we also promote and implement innovative and transformative research to improve the health of cancer survivors and their families.
