Signal Transduction Training Grant

The Postdoctoral Training Program in Signal Transduction and Cancer at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University enables four postdoctoral fellows per year to receive state-of-the-art training in signal transduction pathways and the role of aberrant signaling pathways in human cancer. Trainees receive two years of funding to conduct research to investigate the mechanism by which hormones, growth factors and receptors control cell fate, transformation, metastasis and cell growth. The preceptors of this Training Program are well established investigators with NIH funded research programs on both the Evanston and Chicago Campuses of Northwestern University. In addition to laboratory research, the Training Program includes:

  1. Oncology Research Journal Club
  2. Tumor Cell Biology Seminar Series
  3. Annual presentations
  4. Chicago Signal Transduction Symposium
