Northwestern Medicine Hospitals Ranked Among “America’s Best Hospitals” by U.S. News & World Report

Northwestern Memorial Hospital named to prestigious national ‘Honor Roll,’ ranked No. 1 in Illinois and Chicago 

Congratulations! The Lurie Cancer Center’s primary teaching affiliate, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report in its 2015-16 ranking of America’s Best Hospitals. For the fourth consecutive year, Northwestern Memorial Hospital has been named to the prestigious Best Hospitals Honor Roll, ranking 11th in the nation and 1st in Illinois and 1st in Chicago Metro Region.

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital was ranked 6th in both Illinois and the Chicago Metro Region and Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital was ranked 19th in Illinois and 16th in the Chicago Metro Region.

The Best Hospitals Honor Roll highlights 15 hospitals out of nearly 5,000 nationwide for their expertise in treating the most challenging patients in at least six medical specialties. Northwestern Memorial is nationally ranked in 13 out of 16 specialties, including cancer. 

The Lurie Cancer Center is proud to announce that Northwestern Memorial is ranked 16th in the nation, and 1st in Illinois and Chicago for cancer care. The Lurie Cancer Center and its affiliated hospitals and physician practices treat nearly 10,000 new cancer cases each year providing an extensive range of innovative treatment options, and has more than 300 clinical trials underway at any given time. One of only 41 National Cancer Institute (NCI) - designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the country, the Lurie Cancer Center is also a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), an alliance of 26 of the world’s leading cancer centers dedicated to improving the quality and effectiveness of cancer care.

In addition, the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) has been named the No. 1 Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation hospital in the country for the 25th year in a row. The Lurie Cancer Center’s relationship with the RIC provides patient access to global leader in rehabilitation. RIC’s Cancer Rehabilitation Program treats a wide range of short and long-term impairments that may result from the disease and its treatments.

Congratulations, too, to our partners at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, ranked as the 11th best children's hospital in the country, and the only pediatric hospital in Illinois to be ranked by U.S. News & World Report in all 10 specialties, including cancer.
