Thank you for celebrating with us! 22nd Annual Cancer Survivors’ Celebration Walk & 5K

On May 31, 2015, the coldest Cancer Survivors' Celebration Walk & 5K in 22 years was no match for the warmth and spirit in Chicago's Grant Park. Did we mention the rain? Or the wind? It didn't discourage the thousands of participants who gathered for the largest cancer survivorship celebration in the country!

WGN-TV News anchor and medical reporter, Dina Bair and lymphoma survivor Michael Cates, a coach for the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults' Cancer to 5K Program, welcomed the 5K runners before joining the race!

"Let's be clear — no rain can stop us!" said Leon Platanias, MD, PhD, before leading the countdown to launch the event. The Lurie Cancer Center's Director thanked the crowd for their generosity, partnership, and support of our initiatives to overcome cancer and "have more survivors every year."
Because of your participation and fundraising efforts we raised more than $225,000 to advance innovative research and programs at the Lurie Cancer Center. Thank you!

We'll see you in 2016 at the 23rd Annual Cancer Survivors Celebration Walk & 5K!
