Hippocratic Cancer Research Foundation Chair Honored for Positive Impact on Society
Philanthropist Eleni Bousis, Founder and Chair of the Hippocratic Cancer Research Foundation (HCRF), was honored by the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) for her leadership and commitment to cancer research and health advocacy in the community. The award was presented February 20 at the AHEPA Midwest Family Gala in Chicago.
Inspired by her passion for supporting life-saving research and cancer care at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University, Bousis created the HCRF to advance translational research, and accelerate the development of effective new treatments for patients with cancer.
Lurie Cancer Center Director, Leonidas Platanias, MD, PhD, introduced Bousis at the AHEPA Midwest Family Gala in Chicago, held annually to honor outstanding individuals for their service to the community. Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner and Diana Rauner also attended the event.
