Campaign 2 Save Lives Funds Leukemia Translational Research

donor-c2sl-2017

On October 23, Barbara and Bruce Jacobson, co-founders of Campaign 2 Save Lives (C2SL), presented Jessica Altman, MD, and Olga Frankfurt, MD, co-directors of the Lurie Cancer Center’s Leukemia Transactional Research Program (LTRP) with a check for $30,000 to further their leukemia research, treatment, and care. The gift represents the net proceeds from C2SL’s first fundraiser, It’s a Celebration, held at Gibson’s Chicago on May 16, which celebrated the third birthday-anniversary of Mrs. Jacobson’s successful stem cell transplant. Leonidas C. Platanias, MD, PhD, director of the Lurie Cancer Center, expressed his appreciation and praised the commitment of the C2SL Board, supporters, volunteers, and It’s a Celebration attendees, without whom this gift would not have been possible.
