September 20 Proclaimed Hippocratic Cancer Research Foundation Day in Chicago

In recognition of its commitment to cutting-edge research and cancer care, Mayor Lori Lightfoot proclaimed September 20, 2019 as Hippocratic Cancer Research Foundation Day in Chicago.

The mission of the Hippocratic Cancer Research Foundation (HCRF) is to discover, develop and implement effective new treatments for patients by advancing translational research at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University

The HCRF’s diverse network of donors provides philanthropic support to fund interdisciplinary research teams led by Leonidas Platanias, MD, PhD, director of the Lurie Cancer Center, empowering investigators to join forces and address the most urgent questions in the fields of cancer biology and oncology.

“HCRF’s vision, drive and determination to support our research will create important opportunities to translate scientific discoveries into effective new treatments for our patients,” said Platanias.
