Lea Charitable Trust Equipment Grants
Through the generous support of the Lea Charitable Trust, the Basic Sciences Research Division has a pool of funds available to support small equipment purchases for collaborative cancer-related research projects or for use by multiple cancer research investigators. These awards are available to full members of the Lurie Cancer Center who are affiliated with one of the four Basic Sciences Research Programs. Awards will typically be for $3,000-$8,000 with occasional exceptions for compelling circumstances. Priority will be given to applications that promote intra-programmatic collaboration.
To apply, please provide the following information:
- a one-page application that identifies the nature of the equipment, cost and a list of participants in the collaborative research project (or a list of the investigators who would use the equipment)
- an equipment quotation
- a letter of support from your program leader, confirming that the equipment would be value-added to research and be used broadly by members of the program
If the request for funds represents partial support of an equipment purchase, please note what other sources of funds would be available to complete the purchase.
Applications should be submitted to Mark Tortoriello and are accepted on a rolling basis until funds are expended.Back to top
