The Hippocratic Cancer Research Foundation (HCRF) hosted The Wings to Cure Gala on Saturday, November 12 to benefit cutting-edge translational research at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University.

“A Hand to Hold” was the theme of HCRF’s seventh annual event, held at the Hilton Chicago. Dina Bair (WGN TV), Lou Canellis (FOX 32) and Hosea Sanders (ABC 7) were the evening’s emcees.

Leonidas Platanias, MD, PhD, director of the Lurie Cancer Center, thanked guests and expressed his gratitude to HCRF founding board chair, Eleni Bousis for providing the “opportunity to save lives.” “Philanthropy and research can make a difference,” said Dr. Platanias. “Research saves lives.”
