Cancer-Focused Research

Dr. Sachdev's primary interests have been in improving the therapeutic potential of radiotherapy by enhancing potency and selectivity through [1] computer modeling and [2] novel molecular synergistic approaches. He previously worked on demonstrating the efficacy of image-guided robotic radiosurgery for patients with primary intradural extramedullary spinal tumors, especially in the setting of familial phakomatoses (such as schwannamatosis and neurofibromatosis). His current research interests lie in examining potential mechanisms of synergistic enhancement of tumor-directed conformal radiotherapy with use of molecular and immunomodulatory mechanisms. He has engaged in translational work towards this effort and is helping with and designing clinical trials along these themes.
