Cancer-Focused Research

My clinical focus centers on the treatment of pediatric solid tumor patients, including those with renal tumors, liver tumors, germ cell tumors, and sarcomas. Through my work with the Children's Oncology Group's Renal Disease Committee and the Pediatric Preclinical Testing Consortium Disease Committee, I participate in the development of new therapeutic clinical trials for renal tumor patients. I serve as the Developmental Therapeutics lead for the Renal Tumor Committee, and will be leading a Children's Oncology Group-wide clinical trial for the treatment of pediatric patients with newly diagnosed rhabdoid tumor. My research interests involve the study of pediatric high-risk renal tumors and their underlying genetic drivers. In addition, I am focused on the analysis of circulating exosomes as biomarkers from pediatric solid tumor patients for use in diagnosis, monitoring of treatment response, and early detection of relapse. This work received funding through a National Institutes of Health R21 Grant in August 2019.
