I am interested in understanding the functional roles of metabolic processes in the contexts of cancer and cancer metastasis. My lab has developed tools to study the spatial distribution of metabolic fluxes with single-cell precision by combining stable-isotope tracing with MALDI imaging mass-spectrometry ("Iso-imaging"). Using rigorous mathematical modeling of data generated with this technique and aligning our data with other spatial -omics data, we seek to determine the fundamental regulatory principles of biochemical networks in health and disease.
