Cancer-Focused Research
My lab is interested in studying genetic mechanisms that underlie and modify muscle injury and disease. The goal of this research is to use these signals to guide development of therapeutics with a focus on decreasing fibrosis and enhancing repair. We are also collaborating on a project examining whether circulating cachectic muscle-derived factors impact pancreatic tumor growth and whether these factors can serve as biomarkers of early-stage pancreatic cancer.
