Cancer-Focused Research

Dr. Nezami is a pathologist subspecialized in genitourinary pathology and molecular genetic pathology. He received his residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at Case Western Reserve University, followed by fellowships in molecular genetics pathology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and genitourinary pathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Nezami has an extensive track record in biomedical research, with numerous publications in cancer research. He is currently involved in various cancer research projects in genitourinary and lung cancers and collaborates on clinical trials. His research interest is in studying uncommon morphologic features in prostate cancer, such as neuroendocrine differentiation and large cribriform morphology, and studying their molecular and clinical underpinnings. Another area of his active research is eosinophilic renal cell carcinomas, with a focus on syndromic tumors. Dr. Nezami is also actively participating in studying the application of digital pathology and artificial intelligence to improve patient care.
