Cancer-Focused Research

Professor Prindle's research is at the interface of engineering, biology, and medicine. His research focus is understanding how molecular and cellular interactions give rise to collective behaviors in microbial communities. His group uses synthetic biology, quantitative microscopy, and microfluidics to directly investigate the molecular mechanisms behind how cells communicate across broad spatial and temporal scales. The goal is to understand and engineer microbial communities to solve important biomedical problems, such as antibiotic resistance and microbiome engineering.
