Cancer-Focused Research
I am professor of Medicine and a clinical researcher with interest in bone marrow failure states including aplastic anemia, PNH and myelodysplastic neoplasms as well the myeloproliferative neoplasms. I have completed training in anatomic and clinical pathology at Northwestern University followed by a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology a the University of Chicago . My training has shaped my interest in translational research and in a desire to turn clinical and pathological observations into practical and applicable therapies for my patient population. I have been in academic hematology practice since 2000 during which time I participated in multiple clinical trials that have led to the approval of multiple therapies in MDS, MPN, CML and PNH. I have written and co-authored multiple manuscripts outlining the results of research projects and clinical trials.
