Cancer-Focused Research
Dr. Joyceâs research focuses on identifying epigenetic biomarkers of health-related environmental exposures and behaviors (pollutants, diet, exercise, etc.), in particular for social determinants of health, with age-related chronic diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular disease using data collected from population cohort studies. He specializes in the use of epidemiologic methods to integrate a broad range of knowledge spanning biology, statistics, psychosocial and quality of life measures, nutrition, and environmental studies to develop early detection biomarkers for chronic diseases.
