Cancer-Focused Research
My academic interests are understanding the clinical outcomes of patients with hereditary colorectal cancer based on ongoing surveillance in an active program, tumorigenesis, genotype-phenotype correlation, personalized surveillance for patients with Lynch syndrome, and streamlining risk assessment and genetic testing for patients with a new colorectal cancer diagnosis. Our current projects include ongoing collection of blood biospecimens from patients with colorectal cancer to analyze the value of polygenic risk score in a diverse population. Another ongoing project is studying the changes in somatic profile in rectal cancer after total neoadjuvant treatment.
