Cancer-Focused Research

Dr. Pfammatter is a Licensed Clinical Health Psychologist interests centered around exploring the optimization of multiple health behavior change to treat and prevent chronic conditions such as obesity, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. As obesity remains pandemic, contributing not just to cancer, but the most prevalent types of cancer, she seeks to find opportunities for effective, scalable interventions to help manage weight across the population. Her specific research interest is in the area of investigating technology supported interventions for the purpose of health behavior change by developing smartphone applications, exploring the use of wireless sensors, and investigating behavioral mechanisms that support positive health outcomes in adults. Finally, she is an expert in using the Multiphase Optimization Strategy, a framework for using rigorous research methodology for the specific purpose of optimizing multicomponent interventions.
